Keith Heimann, 52, and Tom Davidson, 49, have been together 24 years and have two daughters. Tom and the children were thrown off Keith’s health care plan because state auditors would not recognize their civil union. They lacked health insurance for months, and the problem reinforced for them why full marriage equality matters.
